Turbulent Flame Speed of a Gasoline surrogate in conditions representative of modern downsized Spark-Ignition engine

چکیده
The downsized spark ignition (SI) engine is considered as one promising technology to reduce pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions. By boosting the intake air pressure, this operating mode achieves higher efficiency, thus reducing pollutant Modeling combustion process in these drastic conditions (high high temperature dilution rate) remains challenging, however, since most of models premixed turbulent seem insufficiently robust because regime might be out classical flamelet regime. Two different setups, a spherical vessel one-shot engine, were used study turbulence-flame interaction representative modern SI i.e. under controlled turbulence. Turbulent flame speed measured wide range Damkohler Karlovitz number. Several correlations from literature are also tested compared complete experimental dataset gathered on both setups.

LES study of deflagration to detonation mechanisms in a downsized spark ignition engine
Using 15 LES cycles of a high load / low speed spark ignition engine operating point, two different fresh gases autoignition regimes called knock and super-knock are analyzed. A direct “a posteriori” analysis of pressure waves and autoignition heat release observed in LES is proposed. It reveals that low to moderate knock intensity, corresponding to late spark timings (ST) is characterized by o...
متن کاملExperimental Study of Performance of Spark Ignition Engine with Gasoline and Natural Gas
The tests were carried out with the spark timing adjusted to the maximum brake torquetiming in various equivalence ratios and engine speeds for gasoline and natural gas operations. In thiswork, the lower heating value of gasoline is about 13.6% higher than that of natural gas. Based on theexperimental results, the natural gas operation causes an increase of about 6.2% brake special fuelconsumpt...
متن کاملRadiation modeling of a turbulent diffusion flame in diesel engine
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of radiation heat transfer on temperature distribution and heat flux to the walls of a diesel engine. A diffusion flame is modeled in a simple cylindrical geometry and boundary conditions are defined. A specific solver which can model the turbulent diffusion flame by considering radiation in participating media is used to solve the problem....
متن کاملOil Quality Monitoring in Gasoline Spark Ignition Engine Using Oil Dielectric Measurement
Oil analysis is one of the main methods for monitoring the status of internal combustion engines and oils to ensure the lubricant's protective performance and engine health. This paper investigate oil condition monitoring in gasoline engine using oil dielectric coefficient measurement. At first capacitive sensor pectinate type is designed and manufactured that engine oil can pass through the se...
متن کاملEffect of electrode erosion on the required ignition voltage of spark plug in CNG spark ignition engine
In this article, the electrode erosion and the gap growth of spark plugs were measured on of a CNG fueled engine after durability tests. Then, the required ignition voltage and the spark quality were investigated by a spark plug test rig. Considering results of measurements, the gap growth increased as the running time increased. Thus, the gap growth of spark plugs with 200 and 280 hours runnin...
